Update on She Sharp

This month we ran the first ever female-led AI Hackathon in New Zealand. Partnering with AI Forum, AUT, FNZ, Deloitte, AWS and Datacom, the AI for the Environment Hackathon was held on the weekend of the 3rd of September. The 32-hour hackathon brought together 10 teams to produce innovative solutions using AI to improve the environment. By the end of the weekend, the teams presented their solutions, and two were crowned the winners: Team Ripple and Team Leaf! A video from the event is available here.

Team Ripple and Team Leaf then went on to present at the National AI Summit, where team leaf won the TAIAO Prize! Congratulations to all teams!

She Sharp and the AI Forum hosted the first ever Female-led Hackathon aimed to empower and engage women by giving them a supportive learning environment to show the roles they can have in technology.
