MARCH 2023 - EDITION 22

Tēnā koe <<First Name>>

This Month, we celebrated the incredible achievements of women at our 2023 She Sharp kick off event at CountdownX. It was inspiring to see so many women come together to share their stories and inspire one another. We've come a long way in the fight for gender equality, but there's still so much work to be done. Growing up in Iran has shaped and made me who I am today. I might not have had the same motivation to pursue success, to be determined to push myself to the same extent. Seeing the many brave women in Iran fighting out against oppression, fighting for their basic human rights, I am proud to be an Iranian woman.

Let's keep pushing forward, challenging gender stereotypes, and empowering women to achieve their full potential.

Here's to a future where all women can thrive! We are looking forward to seeing you in our next month event at MYOB.

Update on She Sharp

Past Event: International Women's Day Breakfast Celebration

Our recent International Women's Day Breakfast Celebration event was a huge success and a great way to kick off our events for the year. We were grateful to partner with Countdown to bring this event to life, and we want to extend our sincere thanks to them for their support.

The event was an incredible morning filled with inspiration, networking, and delicious food. We had the pleasure of hearing from some amazing speakers, who shared their experiences and insights on navigating the challenges and opportunities of being a woman in STEM. We also had the opportunity to connect with other women in our community, and partake in informative exercises with one another.

We are so thankful to everyone who attended and helped make this event such a success. Your energy, enthusiasm, and support are what make our community so special. We can't wait to build on this momentum and continue to create opportunities for women to connect, learn, and grow. It was such a memorable and inspiring event!

She# Byte Podcast:

For our first SheSharp event for 2023 was an invitation to breakfast with Woolworths Countdown to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th.

The theme for this year was EmbraceEquity. But hang on, Women already get fair go (I hear you say). Ah, yes, but Equality and Equity are two totally different concepts.

Take a listen to our latest She Bytes Episode to hear from Woolworths Countdown Head of Sustainability Catherine Langabeer, She Sharp Founder Mahsa McCauley and our fellow Women in STEM advocates challenging gender stereotypes and discussing the nuances of Equity versus Equality.

Thank you for being apart of the She Sharp community. We look forward to another year of growth and impact, and cannot wait to share this with you all. Stay tuned for our next newsletter in April!
