Event Wrap Ups

Tomorrow Expo

10-12 May 2023

Viaduct Event Centre

This year SHE# is joining NZ leading startups, scale ups, and corporate tech companies at this innovative tech event. Bringing together the tech industry, educators, and community this event is a fantastic opportunity to gain knowledge, make connections, see cool staff, talk to like minded people, and have a fun day exploring. Most importantly – find your path to a career in tech!

At She#, we believe that one effective way of addressing the gender gap issue is to create an atmosphere where High School girls can see how exciting and relevant technology is to their lives, and provide them with the opportunity of seeing inside tech companies, meeting their employees and networking with female role models
within the industry.

We had a wonderful time at the NZTech Techweek NZ Tomorrow Expo, where we showcased our work dedicated to empowering women in tech. Today, we were delighted to welcome many groups of students visiting from diverse range of Auckland schools, who were eager to learn more about STEM, robotics, AR and VR. They had a chance to try out some of our activities, such as programming a robot, virtual reality and exploring an augmented reality app. We were impressed by their enthusiasm and creativity, and we hope to inspire more young women to pursue their passion for technology. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth and supported our cause. We look forward to seeing you at our future events!

2 Sponsorship Spots Left – Don’t miss out!

As we continue to strive for gender diversity in the technology industry, it's important to acknowledge the role that sponsorship can play in supporting women in this field. Sponsoring women in technology organizations is a crucial step in promoting gender diversity and inclusivity in the industry. By supporting these initiatives, we can create a more equitable and thriving tech community for all.

She# (pronounced “She Sharp”) was founded in June 2014, and is a non-profit networking group for high school girls, women in tertiary studies and industry professionals.

Our goals are to connect technology students and professionals to ICT companies by creating networking events where they can meet. Companies have the chance to promote positions, programmes, or internships to prospective future employees, and attendees have the opportunity to make valuable industry contacts.

A typical She# event is hosted by a tech-related company and consists of keynote speakers who share their passion for science and technology, what brought them into the field, and the experiences, challenges, and successes they have faced.

Followed by practical sessions are also run to demonstrate real-world situations, and teach members valuable career skills such as management, leadership, and communication. Wrapping up with networking and nibbles.

The benefits of sponsoring women in technology organizations are numerous. Nothing is more motivating to girls who are either studying computer science or considering it, starting or have experience in the industry, than to see other women in the field sharing their experiences, challenges, and successes. Sponsors also benefit from the exposure and networking opportunities that come with supporting these initiatives.

Bonus: we would slot nicely with your company’s marketing plan and corporate social responsibility.
