Greetings from Colombia! I've been on a sabbatical, teaching at the University of Andes in Bogotá. It’s been a welcome change of scenery and I’m super excited to be building connections all over the world and learning new things. 🌟

During my sabbatical adventure, I've had the privilege of delivering talks on research projects and organising empowering workshops like #IAmRemarkable. The interest from students at the University of Andes in visiting New Zealand and studying at AUT holds great promise for future cultural exchanges and academic growth. 📚✨

While I've been away, the She Sharp team has been tirelessly working on our new mentorship program, a significant step forward in connecting our community. They've also successfully hosted our first event of the year with our sponsor Woolworths, and from what I've seen, it looked like a fantastic start to the year! 🚀

International Women’s Day at GridAKL

🌟 It was a joy for the She Sharp team to participate in the International Women’s Day celebrations at GRID AKL, where we've been graciously offered workspace until September! The event showcased a diverse lineup of speakers, each delivering inspiring messages, from podcasters to aspiring astronauts. Our Event Lead, Melinda Legg, shared She Sharp’s impactful journey towards fostering diversity in STEM, drawing upon her personal experiences in a technical role.

Our Mentorship Program has launched!

For the first time ever, we're thrilled to launch She Sharp Mentorships! We’ve been blown away by the interest and are currently at capacity — something we’re so happy to see.

We've paired up over 30 mentors with over 30 mentees from the STEM industry, offering three coffee catch-ups over three months. We're proud to have fantastic mentors from She Sharp, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, Fonterra, Kiwibank, MYOB, and more on board! 🧠
