April has been a month of deep learning, global collaboration, and inspiring conversations. As a Fulbright Scholar, Iβve continued my journey toward earning a Master Beekeeper certification here in North Carolina β discovering how AI and traditional beekeeping knowledge can come together to protect these vital pollinators. Itβs a hands-on reminder that innovation is most powerful when it honors lived experience and wisdom.
This month also brought rich discussions around the future of work and the evolving role of AI in our lives. From digital transformation and the rise of non-degree credentials to the growing emphasis on emotional intelligence, itβs clear that adaptability and lifelong learning are becoming essential skills in every field. I was proud to lead several workshops focused on these themes β including multiple βCoding the Futureβ sessions and our She Sharp-hosted #IAmRemarkable workshop on April 16. This global movement empowers individuals, especially those from underrepresented groups, to embrace their achievements and challenge the biases around self-promotion. As we continue to navigate rapid change in both technology and society, itβs more important than ever to recognise our worth, speak our accomplishments out loud, and lift others as we rise. |

| On April 16, 26 participants joined us online for She Sharpβs #IAmRemarkable workshop, led by our founder and director, Dr Mahsa McCauley (Mohaghegh), as part of a global movement to empower underrepresented voices. The session created a safe and supportive space for attendees to reflect on their achievements, challenge biases around self-promotion, and grow in confidence. Energised by open conversations and shared stories, the group walked away inspired to celebrate their own value and uplift others in their communities. Source. π Sharing the recent article published by EdTechNZ βAdvancing Beekeeping with AI at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State Universityβ. As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education and Outreach (CREO) , Dr Mahsa McCauley is collaborating with Professor Hossein Sarrafzadeh and Dr. Iman Ardekani, PhD on the innovative Bee Doctor project. Their work integrates AI and machine learning to analyse bioacoustic signals from beehives, enabling early detection of diseases and environmental stressors affecting honeybee colonies. This technology allows for real-time monitoring and swift interventions to protect hive health, supporting both pollinator conservation and sustainable agriculture. Source.
