On 30 July, She Sharp partnered with MYOB to host an evening exploring how AI is reshaping software delivery and the way people work, featuring three MYOB speakers followed by a hands-on group workshop.
Jean Fulop, Senior Product Manager at MYOB, opened with a look at the gap between AI that dazzles in a demo and AI you can trust with real work, sharing her guiding principle that every AI output is a draft, not a verdict, along with three mindset shifts: draft, not verdict; direct, don't do; and iterate, don't accept.
Marion Nicholas, Chartered Accountant and Domain Expert, walked through how AI supports her team's design and delivery workflow, from exploring layout options with Microsoft Copilot to preparing AI-ready handovers for developers. Her key lesson: faster coding doesn't make rework cheaper, so the real value comes from using AI earlier to challenge assumptions before building.
Katy Seel, GM People for SME & Practice, brought a people-first lens, framing MYOB's approach around mindset, skillset, and toolset, and sharing where individuals typically sit on their AI journey, from experimenting through to scaling. Her closing message stayed with the room: the toolset will keep changing, but mindset and skillset are what you own.
The evening closed with a collaborative AI problem-solving activity, where attendees chose their path by experience level and worked through a simple, reusable process: start, clarify, refine, review, improve. Attendees left with practical tools for using AI with more judgement, and a reminder that the first answer AI gives is rarely the final one worth accepting.
